- Maybe you want a more holistic, ‘all of life’ encompassing faith?
- One that actually makes a difference every day, instead of something you pull out of the closet on a Sunday?
- And you catch yourself thinking, “Really? Is this it?!?”
If so, you’ve come to the right place!

Hiya
I’m El and it’s my absolute pleasure to meet you! I’m here to help you hang out with God in a way that is most you.
Because you being you, the person God made you to be, includes building a relationship in the way that most honours who you are.
No more striving or trying. This is about building a relationship as real as the one you have with your best friend.
I don’t have to strive to hang out with my best friends. It’s just us, doing our thing. Laughing. Giggling. Crying. Loving.
And that’s what I want for us and God.
But you don’t have to try and do it alone!
Together, I want us to be the change that we want to see in the world. Share love, real, practical, daily love. Be the people who tip the balance and make ‘Christian’ more than just a religious label.
Because doesn’t it just totally do your head in?!?
This world is full of people acting out and doing crazy crap in the name of religion.
Gandhi loved Jesus but couldn’t stand Christians because they were just bonkers and nothing like the Christ he fell in love with.
Churches are getting so tangled up in politics and condemnation, they seem to have left love as an optional extra.
While here you are, a kind, big-hearted, intelligent person, left hanging out with an irrelevant God because the people who should be helping are too busy bickering amongst themselves to even notice that they’re being left behind.
I’ve had enough, and maybe you have too?
I mean seriously, whatever happened to the love, social justice and freedom that Jesus lived?
Most people have a pretty messed up view of Christians.
Homophobic, hypocritical, judgemental. That’s what a lot of people think when you tell them you’re a Christian. It’s why I started calling myself a Jesus freak instead. It’s not that I lost my faith or stopped believing. I just don’t like what the label has come to mean.
After years of watching from the sidelines, trying to rationalise a solution and waiting to see if the church gets its act together, I’ve finally decided to do something about it.
At Heaven and El you can have a fun, honest, daily relationship with God. It’s a safe place to explore that relationship, in a way that feels most you. Resources, audios, fun-sheets and lots of smiles …
If you find yourself yearning for the living God, a life empowered by the Holy Spirit, love, compassion and Jesus, you are sooo not alone and I’d invite you to join me in the playground.
Relationship, not religion.
By the time we’re done, you won’t be a lone voice, wishing it were different but feeling like it’s only you with those doubts, uncertainties and frustrations.
You’ll be a soulful powerhouse, full to bursting with love, peace, contentment and happiness, filled right up and spilling out the top with excitement and anticipation for each new day. Sending those crazy acting religious types packing as you claim your rightful spot, slap bang in the middle as God’s masterpiece.
I had my own “come to Jesus” moment when I was 12 or 13 thanks to a staunch Welsh preacher literally scaring the hell out of me. There was no way I wanted to wind up there! But something that always bothered me was, if I was God, would I really want people hanging out with me because they were too scared of the consequences if they didn’t? I mean, what kind of a relationship was that?!?
And then one day I read The Shack and one scene in particular really felt like coming home.
Jesus, Father God (who incidentally was portrayed as a Caribbean mamma – just genius!) and the Holy Spirit (again a girl) were all hanging out together having dinner. Jesus knocked over a jug of juice (“Oh, you humans!” is God’s retort before laughing as she cleans up the mess) and they had a giggle, enjoying each other’s company.
It was so refreshing and down to earth and real.
And I got to thinking that that was the kind of spirituality that I wanted.
I want a love that is so real and so vibrant, so here and now, that I could turn around from my keyboard right now and see God standing there reading these words over my shoulder, smiling at my typos and nodding with encouragement because he wants that too.
Spirituality that permeates every day. Honest. No airs and graces or shoulds.
Just hanging out with God, knowing that I was loved and enjoying his company. But I don’t want it to stop with me. I want it for us, you and me, and that person in your street who only knows God as a swear word.
And so I’m on a mission to rid the world of the baggage of religious shoulds and instead, help people into a relationship, based on love and kindness and real life.
Every day. Relevant. Vibrant.
And it starts with you.
Because, despite the media and the church campaigns, the way most people get to know what it means to be ‘Christian’ is through personal relationships with friends and family members.
“Being Christian means being God’s agent of common grace in the world.”
If you love Jesus but are struggling with religious shoulds, yearning for a faith that changes lives, that actually makes a difference, then you and I really need to talk because you are exactly the person I want to meet.
