So how did you get on with spotting the delightful things that make you smile? The really wonderful thing about the way your clever brain works is that the more you notice these things, the easier and easier it comes to notice them, almost like a self-fulfilling prophecy!
Another way to think of this is like the Facebook algorithm. If Facebook showed you ever single thing that your friends & family shared, exactly when they shared it, your Facebook newsfeed would be crazy so instead, Facebook uses its secret algorithm to decide what to show you based on what you like most. You can totally hack your Facebook newsfeed, just like we’re playing with hacking your brain.

So the very first step to hacking your brain to help you smile more is to know what it is you actually want more of in your day to day. After all, if you don’t know what you want, how are you going to know when you get it?!?
Your challenge for today then, if you choose to accept it, is to simply notice what makes you smile. What lights you up? Makes you belly laugh? Puts a smile on your face, even if it’s really random and somewhat silly?
It’s really easy to get so overwhelmed by how busy and full on life is, we don’t actually notice that something is lovely. That’s somewhat tragic, don’t you think? Just think … you could be having a brilliant moment in a day and not even notice. What a waste! 🙂
